Higher Certificate in Management
With Major in Fundamentals of Aviation Management Minimum Credits: 120 | NQF 5 | SAQA ID 117871 (optionally includes concurrent flight training up to SACAA PPL(H) level) This program is aimed at candidates who do not wish to move beyond private pilot level, at aviation entrepreneurs wishing to broaden their industry skillset or at current aviation operational staff wishing to both enhance their managerial skills and understand the aviation environment. The practical flight training component is optional, making this the ideal qualification for those who might be seeking theoretical knowledge, without necessarily wanting to become a pilot. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: * A Senior Certificate (SC); or a National Senior Certificate (NSC) as certified by Umalusi; or a National Senior Certificate – Vocational Level 4 (NC(V)); or an NQF 4 National Certificate with a minimum of 40% in English Home Language or First Additional Language. * NB: Flight hours subject to passing an aviation medical examination Diploma in Management
With Major in Aviation Management Minimum 360 Credits | NQF Level 6 | SAQA ID 117869 (includes concurrent flight training up to SACAA CPL/IF(H) level) This comprehensive tertiary qualification places successful candidates at a distinct advantage as they search for their first flying job - they are dual qualified after three years, with both the necessary flying qualifications as well as a solid managerial background enabling them to enter the workforce with a well-rounded understanding of how the industry works on more than just a stick-and-rudder level. 2025 will see the launch of:Advanced Diploma in Management
With Major in Advanced Aviation Management Minimum Credits: 120 | NQF Level 7 | SAQA ID 117865 (includes concurrent theoretical training up to SACAA frozen ATPL(H)) An Advanced Diploma gives the holder direct entry into the conventional Honours program, and onwards to Masters and Doctoral studies. Successful candidates in this program will be well equipped for senior managerial positions within the aviation industry. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: * A STADIO formerly Southern Business School Diploma in Management (NQF 6); or a prior qualification on NQF level 6 (minimum 360 credits); or a diploma (NQF 6) or degree (NQF 7) in a cognate field. * A valid CPL/IFR(H) and medical RPL will be applicable to currently qualified helicopter and fixed-wing pilots looking to enrol into the various programs.
